Tokat Vocational School (TMYO), guided by the principle of ‘People and Safety First’ and in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, successfully concluded its Occupational Health and Safety Committee meeting with broad participation. The meeting was organised to enable academic and administrative staff to provide services in a safer working environment.
The ‘Occupational Health and Safety Committee Meeting’ was attended by our Director, Dr. Lecturer Bekir DOĞAN, our Deputy Directors, Lecturer Dr. Bilal Okan İçmez, Lecturer Kemal Ergün, Vocational School Secretary Ümit Çukurçayır, and Workplace Physician Associate Professor Dr. Rıza Çıtıl, Occupational Safety Specialists Lecturer Dr. Samet Tosun and Engin Karaarslan.
High-Level Participation and Strategic Planning
The meeting, chaired by Dr. Bekir DOĞAN, Director of Tokat Vocational School, outlined the institution's security vision. This important session, held in the meeting hall, was attended by Assistant Coordinator Engin KARAARSLAN, representing the OHS Coordination Office, Occupational Safety Specialist Dr. Lecturer Samet TOSUN, and Occupational Physician Associate Professor Dr. Rıza ÇITIL, who provided critical information on their areas of expertise.
Safe and Sustainable Working Environment
The main agenda item of the meeting was the improvement of physical conditions in the Vocational School building and its annexes, and the protection of employee health. The following topics were highlighted during the meeting:
• Building and Infrastructure Safety: The compliance of all indoor and outdoor areas on the TMYO campus with occupational health and safety standards was analysed in detail.
• Employee Health: Under the guidance of Occupational Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rıza Çıtıl, the necessary health screenings and preventive measures for a sustainable working life were discussed.
• Risk Management: Based on data presented by Occupational Safety Specialist Dr. Samet Tosun, emergency response decisions were made by identifying risk points on campus.
Decisions Were Quickly Implemented
Going beyond a theoretical meeting, it was decided that the decisions taken would be implemented without delay. School Director Bekir Doğan emphasised that the academic and administrative staff working in a peaceful environment would directly reflect on the quality of education, and that OHS processes would be followed meticulously.
At the meeting, the work carried out at our Vocational School within the scope of ‘Occupational Health and Safety’ between 12.09.2025 and 09.01.2026 was reviewed.
