The ‘Hands Shaping the Future with Tokat ÇEKOM’ Project has been launched.

As part of the project, on 10-11 January 2026, our University, as the contracting institution, provided practical training on ‘Bread Making Techniques’ at our Vocational School's Gastronomy Workshop, led by Ercan Polat, Lecturer in the Culinary Arts Programme.

The training aimed to provide vocational skills to children under the care and protection of children's homes affiliated with Tokat ÇEKOM.

During the training process, conducted under the guidance of our teaching staff, the children acquired both theoretical and practical knowledge about preparing sourdough, dough kneading techniques, the fermentation process, and baking stages.

Through the practical training, the children were encouraged to actively participate in the production processes, develop their manual skills, and gain professional awareness.

The project aimed to prepare the children for the future, introduce them to the culture of production, and support their career development processes. At the same time, it sought to strengthen their social and psychosocial skills, such as self-confidence, responsibility, patience, and teamwork.
