The Smart Technologies and Innovation Club, operating within Tokat Vocational School, organised an event to bring club members together, allow them to get to know one another, and plan activities for the coming term. The event, led by Club Advisor Dr Ömer ÖNAL and Club President Medine KARAKOL, was attended by club members, our students and our academic staff.
During the event, information was provided to club members and participating students regarding the club’s founding purpose, objectives, and planned projects. Discussions took place on enhancing interaction among students, fostering an interdisciplinary working culture, and supporting innovative ideas.
To highlight interdisciplinary work, academic staff from various programmes at our Vocational School held a discussion as part of the event. Dr Onur Cömert, Lecturer from our Front-End Software Development Programme; Dr Sedat ŞEN, Lecturer from our Mechanical Engineering Programme; Dr Tuğrul URFALI, Lecturer from our Surveying and Cadastral Engineering Programme; and Dr Bilal Okan İÇMEZ, Lecturer from our Electronic Technology Programme, Dr. Ömer Önal and Lecturer Yasin Cem DUYMUŞ offered recommendations regarding club activities from an academic perspective. With the contributions of the academic staff, the aim is to ensure students keep pace with technological developments, enhance their project development skills, and increase practical, application-oriented work.
During the meeting, a roadmap was drawn up for the training sessions, workshops, technical visits and project activities planned for the coming period; it was decided to establish working groups in which students could actively participate.
