First Prize at TARIMFEST 2026 Awarded to One of Our Academics

The project titled “Mosaic Generation and Analysis of Agricultural Water Requirements from VTOL UAV Images: A Feature-Based Image Matching Approach”, in which Dr Tuğrul URFALI of the Tokat Vocational School at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is a member of the project team, has been awarded first prize in the project competition organised as part of TarımFest 2026.

Evaluated within the Environment and Energy thematic area, the project aims to conduct NDVI-based plant health and water requirement analyses in agricultural areas using VTOL-based unmanned aerial vehicles, NIR imaging technologies and AI-supported image processing methods.

The system developed is intended to contribute to precision farming practices by analysing the distribution of water stress within fields. The study presents an innovative approach in terms of data-driven irrigation management, water conservation and sustainable agricultural technologies.
