A strong cooperation agreement has been signed between Tokat Vocational School and Atay Engineering, a leading and prominent player in the industry in the fields of mapping technologies, engineering applications and the defence industry.
The meeting was attended by Atay Engineering CEO Hürcan Atay; Tokat Vocational School Director Dr Bekir Doğan, Deputy Directors Dr Bilal Okan İçmez and Lecturer Kemal Ergün, and School Secretary Ümit Çukurçayır; Dr Tuğrul Urfalı, Head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, and department lecturers Derya Dilara Köse and Selda Demir.
Under the ‘Cooperation Protocol’ aimed at the education and professional development of Tokat Vocational School students, the agreement signed aims to carry out joint activities including technical training initiatives, industry meetings, practical training exercises, seminars, and efforts to enhance students’ field experience. Furthermore, under the 3+1 education model, the aim is for students to establish closer contact with the industry and develop their professional knowledge and skills in the field.
Dr Bekir Doğan, Director of Tokat Vocational School and Assistant Professor, emphasised that university-industry collaboration is one of the most important elements of vocational education, stating that equipping students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills is among their primary objectives. He noted that this collaboration would make a significant contribution to students’ career development.
Hürcan Atay, CEO of Atay Engineering, noted that partnerships established with universities make a significant contribution to the development of a qualified workforce. He added that the cutting-edge technologies utilised in projects carried out with the defence industry, AFAD, local authorities and various public institutions would provide students with a valuable opportunity for practical experience.
It was noted that strong partnerships and joint initiatives with the industry will continue to grow in the coming period at Tokat Vocational College.
