Our Vocational School’s Office Services and Secretarial Studies & Electronics and Automation Departments organised an ‘Internal Stakeholder Meeting’

The meeting was chaired by Dr Bilal Okan İçmez, Head of the Department of Electronics and Automation, and Kemal Ergün, Lecturer and Head of the Department of Office Services and Secretarial Studies.

The meeting was attended by academic staff and a student representative from the Department of Electronics and Automation, academic staff and a student representative from the Department of Office Services and Secretarial Studies, the Secretary of our Vocational School, Ümit Çukurçayır; the Department Secretary, Yeliz Dursun; Selmi Selim Tapar, representing the Student Affairs Directorate; Aylin Kaymak from the Library and Documentation Directorate; and technician Furkan Avcı, representing the Health, Culture and Sports Directorate.

The following agenda items were discussed at the meeting:

1. Evaluation of Teaching and Learning Activities

Course content, practical training processes and assessment practices were discussed; it was concluded that increasing the number of practice-oriented courses would contribute to students’ professional development.

2. The 3+1 Education Model / Vocational Training in the Workplace

The positive contributions of the 3+1 education model, which supports students’ adaptation to the world of work, were assessed, and it was emphasised that collaboration with businesses needs to be strengthened.

3. Evaluation of Student Satisfaction Survey Results

In line with student feedback, it has been determined that improvements are required in the following areas:

  • Increasing the number of practical training sessions,
  • Enhancing laboratory facilities,
  • Expanding career planning activities,
  • Strengthening the technical infrastructure.

4. Physical Infrastructure and Technical Equipment

The current condition of classrooms, computer laboratories and technical equipment has been assessed; it has been decided to plan the necessary maintenance, refurbishment and updating works.

5. Industry Partnerships

It has been decided to increase partnerships with public institutions and private sector representatives, and to improve opportunities for students to undertake work placements and practical training.

6. Academic and Social Activities

It has been proposed to increase the number of seminars, technical visits, career days and social events in order to contribute to students’ professional and personal development.

7. Student Feedback and Suggestions

Requests submitted by students have been evaluated; in particular, expectations regarding the increase in practical class hours and the development of technological infrastructure have been noted.

At the end of the meeting, participants shared their views and suggestions, and a decision was taken to implement the agenda items in consultation with stakeholders.
