As part of the proactive safety initiatives being carried out at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University under the vision of ‘Zero Work-Related Accidents and Occupational Diseases’, an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Committee meeting was held at our Vocational School on 14 August 2026.
Hosted by the management of our Vocational School, the meeting was attended by Deputy Coordinator Engin KARAARSLAN on behalf of the OHS Coordination Unit, Occupational Safety Specialist Lecturer Dr Samet TOSUN, and Occupational Health Physician Associate Professor Dr Rıza ÇITIL.
Representing our Vocational School: our Director, Dr Bekir Doğan, our Deputy Director, Dr Bilal Okan İçmez, and the Secretary of our Vocational School, Ümit Çukurçayır, were present at the meeting. During the session, the OSH activities carried out within our Vocational School, the current on-site conditions and strategic steps for the future were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, critical issues were discussed with the aim of enabling academic and administrative staff, as well as students, to continue their teaching and learning activities in a safe, healthy and peaceful environment:
Strong Collaboration with the Health and Safety Management Team
The Vocational College Management expressed their commitment to raising occupational health and safety standards to the highest level across the entire Vocational College, emphasising that they would work in full harmony and collaboration with the Health and Safety Coordination Unit.
Following a discussion of the views and suggestions put forward by the committee members, the meeting concluded with the decisions taken being prioritised for implementation and the work schedule for the coming term being finalised.
