As part of the work on the YÖK Micro-Competence Framework being carried out at our university, an information session on Micro-Competence Applications was held with the aim of helping students enrolled at our Vocational Schools to develop their academic and professional competences.
Organised by the Directorate of the Centre for Continuing Education, Research and Application (TOGÜSEM) at our university, the event provided students with information on the purpose, scope and operation of the micro-qualification system. During the event, questions from students regarding the system were answered, and the potential contributions micro-qualifications can make to their academic and professional development processes were discussed.
The presentation was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr Pelin Seval Esen, Deputy Director of TOGÜSEM. Esen stated that micro-competency programmes not only support students’ existing knowledge and skills but also offer significant opportunities for acquiring the competencies required by the business world and for strengthening their career development.
During the event, which attracted considerable interest from students, information was provided on the processes for acquiring micro-qualifications, how students can benefit from these programmes, and how the skills gained can contribute to their career planning.
The event concluded after students’ questions had been answered.
