As part of the cooperation protocol signed between the Tokat branch of the Turkish Red Crescent and our University’s Rectorate, a Blood Donation Awareness Training session was held for students at our Vocational School.

The training was delivered by Hüseyin Avcı, who serves as a Blood Donor Specialist and Blood Donation Recruitment Coordinator at the Tokat branch of the Turkish Red Crescent.

During the session, our students were informed about the importance of blood donation, the social value of voluntary and regular blood donation, the blood donation process, and the eligibility criteria for donating blood.

As part of the training programme, Yasin Cem Duymuş, a Lecturer at our Vocational School, was presented with a plaque of appreciation by the Tokat branch of the Turkish Red Crescent in recognition of his regular blood donations to the organisation. Duymuş was thanked for his sensitivity and sense of social responsibility, as his regular blood donations have contributed to meeting the demand for blood.

At the end of the programme, Hüseyin Avcı, who delivered the training, was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Dr Bekir Doğan, Lecturer and Director of our Vocational School.

The training programme, which attracted considerable interest from our Vocational School students, aimed to raise awareness of blood donation and encourage voluntary blood donation.

It is hoped that the training and awareness-raising activities organised as part of the collaboration between our University and the Turkish Red Crescent will contribute to developing our students’ sense of social responsibility and strengthening social solidarity.
