Conscious Steps Towards Social Awareness!
With the aim of informing our university students and raising social awareness, an information session on the topic of
‘Online Betting, Gambling Addiction and IBAN Rental’
was organised by the TOGÜ Club for the Fight Against Addictions in collaboration with the Cybercrime Department of the Tokat Provincial Police Directorate.
As part of the awareness-raising event, our students were provided with important information regarding the risks that online betting and gambling may pose from individual, social and economic perspectives, the negative consequences of addiction, and the effects of such habits on individuals.
Furthermore, attention was drawn to the legal and financial risks students may face regarding the renting out of IBANs, and the importance of informed and secure financial behaviour was emphasised.
We would like to thank
Mr Ahmet Aziz
from the Cybercrime Department for the valuable information and contributions he provided to our students,
Club Adviser Lecturer Şefika Altıntaş
for her efforts in organising the programme, and all the students who took part in our event.
At the end of the event,
Dr Bekir Doğan
, Director of our Vocational School, presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr Ahmet Aziz for informing our students.
Being aware is the first step towards protecting oneself from risks.
