INTERNSHIP EXEMPTION

(1) In accordance with Article 11(1) of the Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Vocational Schools Internship Guidelines: “Students may apply for an internship exemption by submitting a service record certificate demonstrating that they have worked for at least one year in a role relevant to their field and are registered with the Social Security Institution (SGK). Students in this situation may apply to the relevant Vocational School Directorate with the Internship Exemption Form and the SGK service record. Students’ cases are assessed by the Programme Internship Committee and, following this assessment, they may be exempted from the internship by decision of the Vocational School Management Board.”

(2) For students transferring to the Vocational College via lateral transfer, part or all of the work placement they undertook whilst enrolled at their previous higher education institution may be recognised, subject to assessment by the Programme Work Placement Committee and approval by the Vocational College Governing Board. Students wishing to be exempted from a work placement they have previously completed must submit an application for work placement exemption.

(3) Students on 3+1 or 2+2 programmes at the Vocational College are deemed to have completed a work placement.

(4) Students at higher education institutions who undertake professional placements as part of their course during their period of study shall be deemed to have completed the minimum 20-day work placement specified above.

(5) Students who have been awarded the right to undertake an internship under the Presidency’s ‘National Internship Programme’ are deemed to have completed their 20-day internship.
